Partner – Strategy
Peter Rabley has spent the last thirty years as a geographer, investor, operator, and technologist looking for ways to improve our understanding, measurement, and use of the earth and its resources. He is responsible for setting the strategy for the organization and managing the fund’s investment portfolio.
Prior to creating PlaceFund, Peter was a venture partner at leading impact investing firm Omidyar Network, where he led its Property Rights initiative, and was responsible for building and managing its portfolio. In addition to his private equity, venture capital and systems change experience, Peter brings 30+ years of know how acquired from a successful career building and scaling enterprise software companies globally.
Peter was the founder and CEO of International Land Systems, an enterprise software firm that provides property taxation, registration and mapping solutions to local governments. Subsequent to its acquisition by Thomson Reuters, he became Vice President for Global Business Development and Strategy at Thomson Reuters.
Peter serves on the board of the Royal Society of Arts, Landesa, Cadasta, Radiant Earth, and Microbuild. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce. Peter graduated from the University of Miami with B.A. in Geography and Economics, and an M.A. in Geography.
